Arweave Storage Is Now Available On Avalanche

Interoperability with other smart contract blockchains allows developers working on these platforms to take advantage of Arweave’s persistent storage capabilities. One such platform is Avalanche, an incredibly fast, low-cost, and environmentally friendly smart contract network.

Avalanche (AVAX) is one of the fastest smart contract platforms in the blockchain industry in terms of transaction completion times. Avalanche is also the leading platform for individuals and businesses to easily create powerful, reliable, and secure private or public “subnets” with full control over their implementation. These “sub-networks” can form the basis for the creation of new value ecosystems for asset tokenization and regulated institutional use cases.

“We are pleased to announce that Arweave (AR) storage is now available in Avalanche. Arweave continues to be the go-to solution for persistent storage in web3 applications. Any decentralized applications requiring truly long-term (or permanent) storage should use Arweave to store arbitrary amounts of data in its current, unaltered form and guarantee its persistence and availability for over 200 years.

Users can now pay for persistent storage using Avalanche wallets and AVAX tokens. This opens up a new space for developing truly decentralized applications on Avalanche, where everything from the user interface to smart contracts to the database is decentralized. Examples might include a full-stack decentralized social network, or Avalanche’s version of Decentraland (MANA), only this time completely decentralized and immutable.

“This interoperability is provided by the Bundlr network, which acts as an aggregator on top of Arweave, collecting many pieces of data and sending them to the Arweave network in a single base layer transaction. This allows Bundlr to offer customized payment options for its users, paying the Arweave network in AR but paying its users in the currency of their choice. Thanks to Bundlr, the one-time payment required to download can now be made using AVAX. If you have a need for persistent storage for your Avalanche application, you can now use this integration,” says the Arweave team.
