Record Level Of Activity In The Polkadot Network

Last month, the Polkadot network registered more than 500 developer commits daily, according to GitHub. This is a record for multichain. These figures have surpassed most networks, even Ethereum.

Meanwhile, 26,258 messages were sent between the Polkadot parachains… and this despite the negative cryptocurrency background. The developers explained this indicator by the launch of new channels – at the moment, 66 blockchains operate in the Polkadot and Kusama networks. For all the time between them, 140,000 messages were sent through 135 channels.

The parachains are powered by Polkadot and tested by Kusama. Polkadot often holds auctions for parachain slots. To participate in the auction, projects need to start staking the DOT token. The first such auction took place in November last year.

Together, Polkadot and Kusama funded the ecosystem with 9.6 million DOT and 346,700 KSM, which is almost $73 million.

The Polkadot and Kusama roadmap was recently published. The changes that await the network are aimed at improving its scalability. There are plans to carry out asynchronous support, which will increase the network speed from 100,000 to 1 million transactions per minute, while maintaining network security.
