zkSync Developers Announced The Launch Of The Solution On The Main Ethereum Network

In November, the Matter Labs team will launch the zkSync 2.0 layer 2 scaling solution on the Ethereum mainnet for a limited number of users. The public alpha version of the project will be presented at the end of 2022.

“Over the past year, we have been hard at work on scaling Ethereum and accelerating its adoption. Today we are pleased to announce that zkSync – the first zkEVM rollup – will appear on the mainnet in 100 days,” the developers wrote.

zkSync is a layer 2 solution based on a zero-knowledge proof protocol compatible with the EVM. It uses the ZK-Rollups method to reduce the load on the leading network by grouping transactions into groups.

Since the project supports the EVM, dapp developers can create and deploy smart contracts in an environment compatible with Ethereum’s native programming languages, Solidity, and Vyper.

The launch of the solution in the mainnet will consist of several stages.

In November, the team will roll out zkSync 2.0 without external projects. Matter Labs explained that this is necessary to test the system.

“We will subject the system to a series of stress tests with real money. They will help us make sure that everything works correctly and performs the expected functions, ” the statement says .

The developers will then submit the project’s codebase for audit, publish the whitepaper, and complete other necessary preparations. After that, access to zkSync 2.0 will be given to a limited circle of users.

The public alpha version of the solution will be launched before the end of 2022.

Earlier, Matter Labs deployed zkSync 2.0 on the testnet of the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization.
